Kylie Crawford graduated from Drake Law School in 2017 and recently joined Sease & Wadding as an associate in Des Moines where she maintains a general criminal and civil litigation practice. Before joining the firm, she spent two and a half years clerking at the Iowa Supreme Court, first for the Honorable Daryl L. Hecht and then for the Honorable David S. Wiggins. Crawford was also a law student extern for Justice Hecht and for the Iowa Court of Appeals.
While at Drake Law, Crawford served as an editor for the Drake Law Review and a research assistant for Professor Robert Rigg, the Director of the Drake Legal Clinic’s Criminal Defense Program, which is how she became involved with the Iowa Criminal Statutes Summary Chart. Additionally, she was a captain of the National Moot Court Team, a legal research and writing teaching assistant, and a research assistant to Professor David McCord, where she worked on a law review article discussing declining death penalty rates across the United States.
Outside of work, Crawford enjoys playing trivia, watching esports with her husband, reading historical, mystery thriller books, and being bossed around by her two adorable cats.
